In the spring of 2009 Herzing University lost a valued member of its family when Greg Mieszkowski suddenly passed away. Greg began his career at Herzing University Online as an Admissions Advisor. His quiet, but persistent work ethic led him to become the re-entry specialist. His hard work and dedication was evident with the number of students he was able to help return to school and finish the degree they had started. Greg, himself, was just a few classes from finishing his own degree and looked forward to returning to school to finish. He was an inspiration to everyone, as at the end of a year when individuals are recognized by Herzing for outstanding performance, Greg won the persistency award two years in a row. Greg is truly missed. In honor of an individual who valued education and hard work, the employees of Herzing University Online's Admissions Department has created the Greg Mieszkowski Persistence Scholarship.
The Greg Mieszkowski Persistence Scholarship is offered to those students who are looking to return to Herzing University Online to complete the education they had started once before. To support the spirit of completion, the award amount will be distributed during the receiving student’s final semester.
Application for scholarship must be completed during their first semester back with Herzing; the deadline for students starting in January 2012 is April 15, 2012. The Herzing Educational Foundation will award a minimum of one scholarship of $500 to be paid against the students account during their final semester of enrollment to a deserving individual that meets requirements and is chosen by the scholarship committee. Students receiving the scholarship must maintain full time enrollment to remain in eligibility without further interruption to their academic schedules.
Requirements:
Perform all necessary re-entry enrollment steps as required by Herzing University and be currently enrolled in the student’s first term back with Herzing Online.
- An essay
- Two sponsors that commit to being your support team to provide written letters of reference turned into your re-entry specialist
- Completed scholarship application form.
